90 years of performances celebrated Lyceum Oldham

LYCEUM Theatre Oldham ends its 90thanniversary celebrations with a classic birthday party comedy.

This season has proved one of the most successful in its history, including a brand-new play performing to over 90 per cent houses and the resurrection of the first play ever performed by Lyceum Players.

They have chosen to end on another high with Alan Ayckboun’s classic family drama ‘The Time Of My Life’, on June 7-15.

A birthday descends into chaos as a toast to ‘happy times’ turns prophetically and hilariously wrong.

Follow the stories of each family member through the past, present and future, indulge in the wonderful characters and keep an eye out for five waiters at the restaurant – you might begin to recognise them as the same person!

The production, which premiered at the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough 27 years ago, will be directed by Melvyn Bates, whose last production was One For The Road in 2017.

The cast is a mix of faces well known to Lyceum audiences, such as award-winning Maggie Blaszczok and new faces playing the younger generation.

Tickets cost £9 each and are on sale online https://www.lyceumtheatre.org.uk/ and from the Box Office by calling 0161 628 2118 (booking fees may apply). There is no performance on Sunday, June 9.
