Going downhill… slowly! Eagle to land in Oldham

Former Winter Olympian ski jumper Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards’ is guest of honour at a Sportsman’s’ Dinner at St Anne’s Rugby Club, Higginshaw Road on Friday, February 16.

Eddie, now 54, became an overnight celebrity, despite finishing last, after his appearance at the 1988 Games in Calgary, Canada.

Eddie will be joined on the night by comedian Venn Tracey while Mark ‘Wiffy’ Smith is master of ceremonies.

Tickets cost £30, including a three-course meal, with a table of ten priced at £275.
