THE new Kia Stinger was recently named Car of The Year by the Northern Group of Motoring Writers (NGMW) at a presentation at Wetherby Racecourse in Yorkshire.
This is a third win for the Korean brand, having previously won in 2011 for the Picanto and again in 2012 for the cee’d.
In recognition of the success, Steve Kitson, Kia’s corporate communication chief, was presented with an inscribed miner’s lamp from the group’s General Secretary Alan Domville.
Mr Kitson said: “We are absolutely thrilled that the Northern Group have chosen to make Stinger their 2018 Car of the Year.
“Since its launch, the Stinger has made waves across the motoring industry and has defied all expectations.
“Stinger has also been a very important vehicle for Kia and our dealer network.
“Not only has it become our flagship vehicle but has altered perceptions of the brand and shows how Kia is constantly developing and looking to the future.”
