Student Josh helps celebrate Hopwood Hall’s success

SHAW student Josh Cooper joined politicians, business leaders, industry professionals, even a Hollywood producer, at a networking event to celebrate Hopwood College’s success over the last academic year.

Josh, a performing arts student, addressed assembled guests and other audience members about his time at the College.
Among the guests were the Mayor and Mayoress of Rochdale, Ian and Christine Duckworth, MP for Heywood and Middleton, Liz McInnes, Rochdale MP, Tony Lloyd, Councillor Allen Brett, leader of Rochdale Council, and Hollywood producer, Hopwood DePree.
Hopwood Hall College Principal, Derek O’Toole and Assistant Principal, Julia Heap also spoke to guests about the College’s success in the 2016/17 academic year, including a Grade 2 Ofsted inspection in November 2016.
Hopwood were also placed sixth in the country for the progress made by students on their vocational course.
The review also featured input from learners studying at the College including Josh, HR Apprentice Luke Webster and HE Student Elise Mitchell.
