Christmas is coming early for Crompton Football Club and all for the benefit of the local community.
The Club has decided to organise a reverse advent calendar starting on Monday, November 20.
But there won’t be any windows opened. The Crompton ‘calendar’ is all about donating food and drink items for Oldham Foodbank on Manchester Street.
Donations will be accepted on training nights or match days. The club will then arrange to visit the Foodbank to hand out donations.
On the first day, people are asked to provide crackers and wrapping paper through to day 24 with Christmas Pudding and Christmas Cake on the menu.
Other items that can be given include: tinned food items, biscuits, cereal, rice, pasta, noodles, shower gel, loo rolls UHT milk (no baked allowed).
The final day for donations is Wednesday, December 13.
