A SHAW business owner is becoming a television regular after making her debut on a popular day-time craft programme.
Angela Morris is a familiar face to town centre shoppers at the Bobbin Patch on Milnrow Road.
Now though Angela and her stock are known nationwide after appearing on Hochanda TV – the UK’s leading craft channel dedicated to crafts, arts and hobby essentials.
Not only will she return to the small screen on February 12, but Angela will be back with a double morning slot.
It means an overnight stay as the programmes are filmed in studios at Oundle near Peterborough.
However, Angela has no objections to a return trip.
“It was really nerve wracking as I was on live for an hour,” explained Angela whose current shop celebrates its third birthday in May.
“But I got some really good feedback, they were over the moon with the response and I sold out of the stuff I took on.”
Angela previously ran her business from premises in the former shopping arcade close to the site of the current Shay Wake.
A fire meant Angela and other businesses were forced to leave and for five years she took her stock on the road.
“I did lots of shows at the NEC, Event City, Harrogate and Hochanda go along looking for different crafts to show on their programmes,” she explained.
“One of the presenters, Leone Pugil, I also knew through Oswaldtwistle Mills at Blackburn and so I got a chance to go on.
“I went down overnight because the programme started at 10am and you have to be at the studios two hours before for a production meeting.
“Then it was all filmed live which was really scary!
“I’ve got two slots on February 12, including the first one at 7am. So, I’ll be travelling down the night before again.
“But it’s great exposure for the business so I’m not complaining.”
