ALREADY scratching your head how to keep youngsters occupied for the six-week school summer holidays?
Then you might find an answer or two at St Joseph’s Parish Centre in Shaw with a large slice of help and inspiration from Anna Kirkpatrick.
Anna’s Dance group is staging a succession of activities throughout July and August including unicorn workshops, dance camp fun days and even workshops to bring to life hit musical ‘The Greatest Showman’.
“I started these holiday activities a couple of years ago and they became really popular,” Anna explained.
“They are designed to help avoid boredom among kids.
“They are accessible and fun for everyone and they are affordable as well.
“If the children aren’t going away either, six weeks is a long time to keep them occupied.”
Starting on Monday, July 23 and then every successive Monday up to and including August 20, the unicorn workshops, costing £5 per child, will take place between 1-3pm.
There will be dancing, games, sparkle craft and refreshments.
The Dance Camp fun days and Fame Academy are being held on Wednesdays between 10am and 3pm, starting on July 25 and running through until August 22.
There are no places left for the inaugural ‘The Greatest Showman’ workshop on July 27 but an extra date has been added on Friday, August 10, running from 10.30am-3pm, costing £10.
“The Greatest Showman workshops have been a resounding success,” added Anna.
“The places for the first one sold out almost immediately and we only have a few places remaining for the extra date we have put on.
“They won’t be doing trapeze acts or anything like that,” laughed Anna. “
“But I like to jump on the latest trends and the youngsters seem to be going bonkers for ‘The Greatest Showman’.
