Crompton Moor features prominently in the latest Walking Week guide produced by Transport for Greater Manchester.
The Winter 2018 edition features more than 100 walks throughout Greater Manchester from February 17-25 including 12 across Oldham.
The Crompton Moor events take place on Wednesday, February 21 and Sunday, February 25.
The first walk is classed as ‘medium’ and promoted by Oldham Council and Walking for Health.
It is a two-mile stroll with a meeting point at Brushes Clough car park off Buckstones Road, OL2 8LS. For further details contact Anita Lee on 0161 620 5658 or anitalee@yahoo.co.uk
Oldham Ramblers will lead the second 10 to 11-mile walk, starting from Grains Bar golf car park on Ripponden Road at 10am.
Again the grading difficulty is given as ‘medium’ and will take walkers across Crompton Moor over to Ogden Reservoir before heading over the tops to Dowry Reservoir and back via Castleshaw.

Carragh Teague, walking co-ordinator for Transport for Greater Manchester, said: “There are plenty of kiddie-focussed trails to entertain the little ones over half-term, difficult routes for those who like a challenge and many shorter walks on flat terrain for those who are less mobile.
“As always we can promise a mix of urban and countryside walks.
“Take the opportunity to visit an area you haven’t been before, learn something about your local surroundings or seek out spectacular views.
“A resounding thank you is due to the many groups and individuals who give up their time to plan these routes and submit them to us.
“Many of them are the same people who will be out and about leading people so expertly on these walks.”
