CROMPTON Stage Society’s upcoming play at Playhouse 2 is different from their recent shows.
But with a talented cast, crew and director it looks set to become another great production.
The play is ‘Bully Boy’, written by comedienne and playwright Sandi Toksvig, the host of popular BBC panel show QI.
The action centres around the impact of war on a wheelchair-bound officer who served in the Falklands, and a young private who is under investigation for a suspected war crime that happened during the Iraq war.
The play is written with such depth, insight and raw feeling that it’s set to be an outstanding piece of theatre.
Although it features some language that might not be to everyone’s taste, it is down to earth and highly relevant to the time we live in now.
The play runs from Saturday, April 14-21 and tickets are available online from www.playhouse2.org or from Interiors, Market Street, Shaw by calling: 01706 840 400.
Other upcoming Playhouse 2 shows include ‘Made In Motown’ on Friday, March 23 which recreates the classic music and sounds of Detroit during the 1960s.
The band comprises high quality experienced musicians dedicated to recreating authentically the ‘Sounds of The Motor City’, fronted by the incredible talents of the bands three female vocalists.
If you’re a fan of Martha Reeves, the Temptations, Supremes, the Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, and many more Motown legends, then this is a show not to be missed.
Tickets cost £15 each and are now on sale online:
