Cadets on parade

A HOST of youngsters, members of Oldham Police Cadets, took part in a passing out parade at the Lifelong Learning Centre in Shaw.

Assistant Chief Constable Nick Bailey welcomed the cadets, their friends and family, VIPs, including Mayor of Oldham Cllr Ginny Alexander, and Senior Leadership teams to the event.

“Watching all these young people receive their well-deserved awards was an honour,” said Cllr Alexander.

“There was so much pride in the room in what these young people have achieved.

“Most joined at 14 through the secondary schools. They went on to achieve their Duke of Edinburgh Awards and some even went to Ghana on work experience.“These young people made us all feel very proud. Well done to each and every one of you and good luck for the future.”

Wardle Academy duo John Webb and Izzak Schofield provided musical accompaniment.

Cadet leaders and staff from Mahdlo gave a presentation of the past events they have been involved in while Inspector Karen Taylor, alongside ACC Bailey, presented awards and certificates to the cadets.
