Court in brief: Drug driver from Shaw banned from road

A MAN from Shaw has been banned from the road for 12 months after being convicted of drug driving.

Daniel Hoy, 24, of Staveley Close, was driving his Mercedes A180 along Manchester Road, Shaw, when he was stopped by police and found to be in excess of the limit.

Stockport Magistrates Court also fined Hoy £120 and ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £32 victims’ surcharge.

Hoy was also fined £50 for driving without due care and attention.

No separate penalty was imposed after he admitted failing to stop when requested to do so by officers.
