Crompton House pupil secures place with National Youth Band

A TALENTED young musician has won a place with the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain in their 2018 concert programme and training sessions.

Julian Bayley, 15, who attends Crompton House School, became a member of Dobcross Training Band aged six and was first taught to play cornet, but soon moved to Flugel Horn as he had requested more melody parts.

Julian, who lives in Delph, continued on Flugel Horn for several years before changing to Euphonium two years ago.

In November 2017, Julian attended an audition at the University of Salford and received the exciting news just before Christmas that he has been offered a place with the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain in 2018.
