HEYSIDE FC remain on course for a top four finish in the Manchester League premier division thanks to a derby win over Royton Town.
But the title already looks a two-team race between unbeaten Oldham based leaders Avro and second placed Wythenshawe Amateurs.
Adam Dale and Mark Hopwood scored the goals for Heyside, who are six points clear of fifth placed Springhead having played two games more. Royton are seventh.
Heyside return to action on Saturday, January 20 when they entertain last season’s champions Rochdale Sacred Heart at Crompton House School, kick-off 2pm.
Heyside face Wythenshawe Amateurs in the quarter-finals of the Gilgryst Cup on February 3.
