CHARLES Dickens’ timeless classic, A Christmas Carol, is brought to life by Crompton Stage Society at Playhouse 2, Shaw next month in a joyous adaptation by Karen Louise Hebden.
A Christmas Carol is the quintessential Christmas story and while everyone has a favourite Scrooge this adaptation (December 7-14) is more faithful to the original novel than any other published stage version.
All the iconic moments from this timeless epic that people know and love are there.
It makes skilful use of traditional carols to underpin the narrative and get people into the Christmas spirit. Tickets cost £10 and shows start at 7.30pm.
Playhouse 2 is also the venue for ‘Golden Oldies’ cinema on Thursday, November 21 when Now Voyager (U) will be shown at 1pm. Tickets cost £5 and includes refreshments.
Abba fans will be out in force on Saturday, November 23 when Mamma Mia will be shown. Tickets are £4.
The last gig of the year is Saturday, December 21 at 8 pm when you can celebrate Christmas with the ‘big band sound’ of ‘The Suburban Swing Orchestra.’
