FORMER Oldham Athletic and Manchester City star, Richard Jobson, was guest of honour for Crompton FC’s inaugural sell-out Autumn Ball held at the Bellavista Restaurant in Milnrow.
The event was organised by ex-Rochdale, Oldham and Huddersfield Rugby League player Ady Belle, whose daughter is an U12s Sharks’ player, and club co-ordinator Chris Leach who coaches the Under 12s Sharks and Under14s Jets teams.
Chris said: “The ball was an amazing night with great company, fantastic entertainment and some extremely generous guests and behalf of Crompton FC.
“I would like to thank everyone that supported us on the night and with donations.
“Most of all, a special mention to Ady and Andrea Belle who without them this event would not have happened.
“To say the evening was meticulously planned would be an understatement.
“All the players and club charity, Dr Kershaws, will benefit once the final total has been confirmed.”
The evening featured a raffle and football cards and the monies raised was collected by club players in team kit to show the guests that the club is a family orientated organisation.
The main raffle items included use of two holiday homes for a week’s stay, Usain Bolt memorabilia plus Latics’ City and Manchester United items.
Entertainment was provided singer Victor, a saxophone and violin duo plus DJ.
In addition to guest of honour Jobson, the club was joined by many of the the club’s sponsors including main club sponsor, UK Superfold.
