Andy Czakow, President of Crompton & Royton Rotary Club, welcomes their latest member, Garry Brown.
He said: “We were very pleased to welcome a new member to our club.
“I have known Garry for many years through our shared passion for motor racing and it was a chance meeting in Asda before Christmas that we got talking about the Santa Sleigh and work of Rotary.
“Garry has family that are involved in Soroptimists and Rotary, and therefore knows about the work we do.
“He has lived in Shaw for many years and is at time of his life with his children having left home and in a few years is aiming to finish work and was looking at putting something back into his local community and getting to know more people.
“I invited Garry to attend some of our meetings to talk to members and see if we were the group he would like to join.
“Fortunately, we passed the test and Garry has now joined and is eager to start his life as a Rotarian giving service above self and getting involved in both the social and the working side of Rotary.”
