Home is where the love hearts live

A COUPLE had a day to remember after heading straight from their wedding to pick up the keys to their new home.

Katie Massey and Peter Rushworth, who have been together for 14 years, were married in a civil ceremony before heading to their shared ownership property at Fabric Living’s Pavilion Green development, Royton.

The couple then travelled on to Kos in Greece to celebrate their official wedding with family and friends.

Katie, 30, said: “It was an exciting day and we are pleased we were able to view our new home before heading to Kos to celebrate our marriage.

“We are really happy with the standard of our new home and it will be amazing to come back as a married couple and move in.”

Located close to the town centre, the new Fabric Living development brings 10 new homes to the market with all plots now reserved.

Pavilion Green is the first shared ownership development undertaken by housing association, First Choice Homes Oldham under its Fabric Living brand.

It was launched as a direct response to the demand for housing and it is part of a wider commitment to build 1,000 homes by 2024 through £150million investment.

Lynsey Clark, Assistant Director of Development at First Choice Homes Oldham, said: “We were overwhelmed by the interest in Pavilion Green and had nearly 400 expressions of interest for the 10 housing units.

“Shared Ownership is helping people who couldn’t afford traditional home ownership to purchase a home.

“Homes are available from £55,300 for a 35 percent share with a rent of £235 per month. Shares of up to 75 per cent can be purchased.”

Work on Pavilion Green is expected to complete at the end of June.
