ONE lucky child could be given the chance to take centre stage alongside Santa and switch on Oldham’s Christmas lights this year.
Oldham Council has launched a free competition ahead of the town centre’s Christmas Lights Switch-On Show, which takes place on Saturday, November 14, from 5.30pm.
The winner will join Father Christmas and special guests on stage to press the button that illuminates the town’s Christmas tree and festive decorations.
The competition gives a young person the opportunity to play a starring role in one of Oldham’s biggest seasonal celebrations.
Entries are free and must be submitted before midnight on Wednesday, November 11.
Families wishing to enter can find further information and take part by visiting www.oldham.gov.uk/push_the_button.
