OLDHAM Ladies recorded a resounding 39-10 rugby win at Colne and Nelson Ladies in their first ever match in the RFU Women’s Junior Cup
They made a great start scoring two unconverted tries in the opening 10 minutes from Michelle Holdsworth and Emma Procter.
After the hosts halved the deficit, Oldham hit back with a touchdown from Darcey Price which was converted by Hannah Bacon and try from Samantha Hannah to establish a 22-5 half-time lead.
The second half followed a similar pattern with Oldham dominating the game.
They added three further tries from Rachael Muir (2) and Amy Miller along with a Bacon conversion.
Forward of the match went to Ellie Purtill and back of the match to Samantha Hannah as both put in fantastic all-round performances.
Colne and Nelson unanimously voted Michelle Holdsworth as the Oldham player of the match from their perspective, not only for her outstanding playing effort, but for the direction and encouragement she gave throughout the game.
