A woman has died following a collision in Oldham.
Around 11pm on Friday, October 5, a woman got out of a stationary taxi and walked south along the A627 Ashton Road.
After crossing the road and reaching the opposite pavement close to junction with Hathershaw Lane, she strayed backwards into the northbound carriageway and was struck by a black Ford C-Max.
The woman, who has since been formally identified as 53-year-old Catherine Mulhall, sadly died from her injuries on Saturday 6 October 2018.
A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. He has since been released under investigation.
Police are continuing to appeal for information following the collision.
Police Constable Phil Shaw, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This was a tragic incident that has taken a woman’s life and our thoughts remain with Catherine’s family at this incredibly difficult time.
“Our investigation is very much ongoing and we are appealing to anyone that witnessed the collision or has dash-cam or CCTV footage to please get in touch.”
