A Royton man is one of four people charged with a range of offences following dawn raids in Oldham last week.
Ryan Stewart (07/07/83), formerly of Brooklands Street, Royton, has been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, conspiracy to steal motor vehicles and conspiracy to commit robbery
Gareth Robinson (12/05/90), formerly of Border Mill Fold, Mossley, has also been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to steal motor vehicles, conspiracy to receive stolen goods, handling of stolen goods and theft of a motor vehicle.
Stewart and Robinson will appear alongside the following people who are also charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, conspiracy to steal motor vehicles and conspiracy to commit robbery:
• Matthew Bowers (26/09/88), formerly of Carnation Road, Oldham
• Peter Clarke (04/02/87), formerly of Elm Road, Limeside
They have all been remanded in custody to appear at Tameside Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 22 May 2019.
The charges follow a number of warrants that were executed in the Oldham area on Thursday 16 May 2019.
The investigation, under Operation Hansford, considered 120 offences including aggravated burglary, robbery, car theft, assault, violent disorder and criminal damage – all believed to be orchestrated by the same organised crime group.
A 21-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
