A WOMAN from Royton, a serial shoplifter, has been jailed for eight weeks.
Elisa Buckley, 21, of Richmond Avenue, was convicted by Tameside Magistrates Court of two counts of theft from the B&M store in Oldham.
The court heard the first offence on November 26 came only 15 days after Buckley had received a suspended prison sentence.
Buckley was jailed for failing to comply with “numerous non-custodial sentences”.
She was given two weeks in prison for each offence to run consecutively and a further four weeks for breaching the suspended sentences and failing to surrender to custody having been released on bail.
The suspended sentence related to four instances of shoplifting of cosmetics worth more than £1,200 in total from Boots, Oldham.
Buckley was also ordered to pay £75 compensation.
