Glenn spoke of the sterling work undertaken by Oldham Council’s parks department who have been supplying fresh vegetables for Oldham’s Food Banks on a regular basis.

He also talked about a bee project being developed by Northern Roots at Snipe Clough and the Royton Hub which is being developed with allotments.

Another internet gathering took place via Zoom when attendees heard a talk from Moors for the Future on a ‘Year in the Life of the Moor’.

• Nordic Walkers John and Jean Norman attended the funeral of “our lovely walking friend Judith Miller.”

Jean said: “A splendid tribute in the chapel at the crematorium of spoken words and magnificent golden flowers which adorned her coffin were a worthy tribute to a fine lady.

“We feel as a fairly small walking group a big loss with Judith’s passing as we are a closely knit bunch.”
