‘Trust’ petition handed in to Oldham Council

A SHAW man with long-standing grievances against Oldham Council has submitted a petition containing more than 1,000 signatures in support of his campaign.

Peter Brown handed in his 1,135-name petition at Oldham Civic Centre on June 26, 2019.

The petition was one of two then listed under item six in the agenda for Oldham Council’s July meeting.

Mr Brown, who attended the meeting, has held regular public protests in Oldham town centre campaigning for the principles of ‘honesty, openness and transparency.’

Additionally, he visited other areas of the borough asking residents for support and gathering signatures.

The council’s recommendation was: “It is recommended that Council note the petitions received.”
