FOR many people, music and Christmas are almost inseparable – the sound of carols in the open air; the magic of listening to a choir; or even younger members of the family joining in with songs they have learned at school.
To bring some music to your lift this festive period, Oldham Choral Society is joining forces with the Ashton Brass Band, a Championship Band led by conductor Philip Chalk, for their eagerly anticipated Christmas Celebration.
The event will be held in Oldham Parish Church, Rock Street, Oldham on Friday, December 21, starting at 7.30pm.
The evening offers a feast of Christmas music from the choir and the band, which are both prominent in the musical world of Oldham and much further afield.
There is also the chance to become a chorister yourself as you join in the much-loved carols and songs of Christmas! And, of course, there are the seasonal refreshments to enjoy afterwards.
Tickets cost £7.50 and can be obtained in advance by contacting any choir member, or you can pay on the door on the night.
