Apply for ROCA grant to boost your community project

COMMUNITY groups and sports clubs throughout Shaw and Crompton have chance to boost their organisations’ projects with a £500 grant.

The money is being made available through First Choice Homes Oldham and partners via Rapid ROCA (Respect Our Community Awards).

To be considered, interested parties must attend one of two events later this month at First Choice Homes headquarters. First Place, Union Street, Oldham, OL1 1BE.

Rapid ROCA aims to help local community projects and groups with funding.

So, if you have a community project, group or activity go along on January 29-30 and fill in an application form. Successful applicants will know by February 9.

Ideally groups will have a bank account but projects that do not at the time they apply will not be turned away.

The scheme was established in 2007 by First Choice Homes Oldham and last year £19,486 was awarded to 41 projects as cash grants after judges looked at 71 applications to pick out the worthiest recipients.

However, Rapid ROCA will not fund any political groups or provide funding for football kits.

The events will take place on January 29 between 5-7pm and January 30 from 10-12pm then 2-4pm. Search #RapidROCA on Twitter for more details.

These small cash grants can make a huge difference for the people of Oldham who will benefit from such an interesting and wide range of activities that will help improve the lives of all involved.
