Bar owners have to ‘gin’ and bear it

NO-ONE can doubt the response of Royton bar owners after a car ploughed through the front window of the Middleton Road business.

Gill and Carl Taylor were left stunned when Gin & Juice was damaged in the incident.

But with typical humour, the husband and wife team has bounced back as the mess is repaired, kindly reminding people they are not a drive thru!

“Yes we are open,” they said in a social media post. “No, we are not a drive thru!”

Gin & Juice was back open just nine days after the incident on Thursday, October 25 after sterling work by local builders, workmen and contractors.

Gill and Carl added: “Massive thank you to Royton Builders, Paul Carter, Liam Brannick, Kyler Warwick and Mick Whelan for their amazing work and always keeping us updated!

“To our family, Daniel Lindley and Chloe Ashburn for dealing with the incident from start to finish in our absence, we massively appreciate all the work you have done for us.

“Also our friends and customers who have continually sent messages of support, thanks so much. It really means a lot and helped us get through the stressful time.”
