A SHAW takeaway is part of a UK-wide industry which is expected to be worth more than £11 billion in the next four years.
And if longevity is any guide then the 3 Chefs at 27, High Street is doing plenty right.
For nearly 15 years the pizzas, curries and kebabs have been flying out of the shop much to the delight of Qadeer Hussain, pictured second from right, and Raja Saghir.
And while an extensive menu can satisfy even the choosiest of eaters, there is no escaping locals’ favourite dishes.
“Initially, we served curries, kebabs and pizzas and had a different chef for each one,” explained Qadeer who moved to Oldham after previously working in a fast food outlet in Derby.
“That’s why we named the shop 3 Chefs.
“But the business has expanded virtually every year since 2004. We have changed the shop and layout about four times in that time.
“Shaw has been very good to us. There are lots of nice people round here and they are very good customers.”
The business now employs about six staff for the seven day a week operation, open from 4pm until late.
There is also a delivery service available on orders of more than £10 within a three-mile radius.
And new on the menu is a variety of chicken box meals starting from £3.50 for a chicken dinner to a munch box at £6.50.
