CROMPTON FC’s rise in its first two years of existence has paid dividends for the Shaw-based club.
With success on the pitch noticed by people who appreciate all the work going on at the Glebe Street club, work has started on ground improvements.
With help of a Fast Grant from Oldham Cares and partnering with Crompton Cricket Club, Crompton FC has resurfaced and increased the car park area.
The outer access area to the ground for supporters with mobility issues and families with younger children in prams has also improved.
Work began after the annual club bonfire and the difference can be seen in the before and after photos.
The next phase will be to ensure access to the viewing area inside the ground is complete to the same standards.
The move forward has been facilitated with two executive club sponsors coming onboard.
Funds have already enabled the club to supply new tracksuit tops and rain jackets for every player and coach.
Heskin Hall Butchers are one of the new partners along with local community interest company, Full Circle NW.
Both company logos are on the new clothing and the additional funding will be put to good use on the remaining work the club plan to do over the coming months.
Club member Chris Leach said: “The excellent work that has been done by our club members over the summer in securing sponsorship for every team has enabled us to provide new kits for every team.
“The fantastic bonus of our two new executive club partners now gives us the opportunity to improve the facilities at the ground which is used every weekend by four teams during the season and every weekday over summer for our training sessions.
“We recognise the need to make access as good as possible for players, parents and families whatever age they are and ensure anyone with mobility issues can enjoy watching our teams continuing success.
“I would like to thank Oldham Cares for the Fast Grant which helped get this project off the ground.
