CROMPTON Football Club has held its end-of-season awards night to celebrate its first year as a new club.
Over three sessions at their Crompton Cricket Club base, more than 300 people attended the events, with parents and grandparents coming along to show their support for the players.
Every player got a squad prize for being part of the club over the season and each team also gave four special awards to the most improved player, club player, manager’s player and player of the season.
Special guests Trevor Baxter from the Shaw and Crompton Correspondent and local adventurer Steve Hill MBE (pictured right with award winner) came along to present awards to players who then celebrated afterwards with music for the players.
Crompton FC enjoyed a highly successful debut season with league titles, cup wins and individual award winners in the North Manchester Girls League presentation nights.
All winners can be seen on the club’s Facebook page and the refreshed website which will be up and running before the end of the month.
• After a fantastic first season and the continuing success of the Roary’s Cubs’ Club, Crompton FC has launched its first boy’s team which will be the new U8s team for 2018/19.
A few more new players are still required, ideally going into Year 3 (or Year 2) in September.
