Crompton House pupils celebrated

TALENTED Crompton House pupils were among the special guests invited to the ‘Oldham Student of the Year Awards 2019’.

The accolades are organised annually by the Rotary Club of Oldham and were presented at a ceremony at the Civic Centre by the outgoing Mayor of Oldham Cllr Javid Iqbal and president of Oldham Rotary Club, Derek Berryman.

The awards seek to recognise those who are making or have made an outstanding contribution to their school, community or family whilst maintaining high standards in their personal lives.

Crompton House students Lucy Cockayne, Olivia Kelly, Isabelle Anastasiou, Jessica Hart and Adam Saville – pictured above with the Mayor – attended for the presentation as well as enjoying refreshments afterwards with the Mayor in the Parlour.

The Rotary Club of Oldham said: “We had again a very high standard of nominations and the panel found it really challenging to decide upon the winners and runners up.

“In fact, this year they decided to make two special awards, one in each age category.

“We thank the staff and students of all the schools, academies and colleges who took part and we look forward to organising next year’s competition, and to the involvement and support of all schools.”
