THEY ARE making a song and dance about Royton’s 2018 Christmas lights switch-on – and everyone is invited.
The illuminating of Royton Town Hall takes place on Saturday, December 8 at 5.30pm.
Before and after, there is plenty of entertainment and activities for families to enjoy.
St Paul’s Choir, Royton Churches Together Choir, RF Dance School, Shaw and Royton Hot Brass, who practice in Royton Moravian Church on Spring Garden Street, will be in attendance.
So too will Father Christmas together with his grotto in Sparkles while there is a chance to grab a few bargains at a community market.
The fun starts at 4pm and runs through to 6pm.
Meanwhile, Oldham’s lights switch on takes place on Sunday, November 18 during five hours of activities including chance to meet television favourites, Tiny and Small from The Clangers in Parliament Square at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.
Crowds will assemble at Tommyfield Market from 5pm for the switch-on show while a LED robotic dancers from Cirque Bijou will entertain spectators.
A firework display will then finish the evening off with a bang.
