A MAN has been charged with murder after a large fight outside a pub in Failsworth.
Sean Mhango (30/10/1999), of no fixed address, has been charged with the murder of 24-year-old Joe O’Brien from Blackley. He has also been charged with section 18 assault, possession of a bladed article and violent disorder.
Mhango has been remanded to appear before Tameside Magistrates Court today, Friday 13 September 2019.
The charge relates to a fight which police were called to on Oldham Road at around 3am on Sunday 21 April 2019. Joe O’Brien sadly died after being stabbed.
Another man – who was 21 at the time of the incident – was also stabbed.
Three other people have also been charged with the murder of Joe O’Brien and are due to face a trial beginning at Liverpool Crown Court on 14 October 2019. They are:
Daniel Kamara (30/01/1997), of Beswick Drive, Failsworth. He is also charged with section 18 assault and violent disorder
Momodou Jallow (17/03/98), of Ashley Lane, Moston. He is also charged with section 18 assault, violent disorder and possession of a bladed article.
A 17-year-old boy, from Failsworth, who cannot be named for legal reasons. He is also charged with section 18 assault and violent disorder.
