New Dr Kershaw’s 2018 calendar unveiled featuring local artists

AN EYE-CATCHING new calendar featuring local work of artists has been unveiled to raise funds for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.

Since 2001, the hospice has created a calendar showcasing the work of talented artist David Ford, featuring his scenes from across Oldham.

Over the years, sales have contributed over £150,000 to help the hospice continue to provide services to people with life-limiting illness, along with their families.

Last year, David died unexpectedly and the 2017 calendar comprised a selection of his pictures used over the years as a tribute to his memory.

Now, for the 2018 calendar, the hospice asked local artists to submit

work and they selected nine pictures.

Some of the artists chosen have links with David Ford as he used to teach an art class.

The calendar was officially launched at a special event at Dr Kershaw’s base on Turf Lane, Royton, when everyone saw the calendar for the first time and enjoyed cake and a brew.
