North Stars hit right notes with popular musical

NORTH STARS Theatre Company is moving forward with flying colours after celebrating a hugely successful production of ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’ at The Grange Theatre.

North Stars Youth Theatre, made up of children and youngsters from five to 18 years old, took to the stage at the end of June to perform Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s iconic family musical.

The show, which tells the tale of the trials and triumphs of Joseph, celebrates its 50th birthday this year.

Produced and directed by Linzi McCoy and choreographed and co-directed by Darcey McCoy, the show starred George Denson, Emily Sirrell and Emma Peacock in the lead roles, along with a brilliant cast involving all members of the Youth Theatre.

Linzi said: “I am incredibly proud of all our children and young people, some of whom were performing in a theatre for the first time.

“We received fantastic reviews and feedback. I also need to thank all my production team, who worked so hard to make this such a fantastic production of this wonderful musical.

“We cannot wait for our Christmas show and our next summer show.”

The Christmas and Summer 2019 shows will be announced soon but will both take place at The Grange Theatre in Oldham.

The Adult Musical Theatre Company are near to completing rehearsals for their new charity concert in aid of Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.

This will take place on Saturday, September 29 at St Herbert’s Church in Chadderton.
