Oldham Athletic terminates contract of manager Frankie Bunn

FRANKIE Bunn’s time as manager of Oldham Athletic has come to an end after the club terminated his contract with immediate effect.

Bunn was appointed in the summer to take over following the club’s relegation into Sky Bet League Two.

But on Thursday, December 27 the club released a statement announcing his departure.

It said: “Oldham Athletic Football Club can confirm that the contract of manager Frankie Bunn has been terminated with immediate effect.

“We would like to place on record our thanks to Frankie for all his efforts during his time at Boundary Park.

“Pete Wild will take the first team as caretaker manager and the club will look to appoint a permanent manager as soon as possible.”

The news came after Oldham Athletic suffered a 6-0 hammering on Boxing Day away at Carlisle United, whose manager is former Latics boss John Sheridan.

The result leaves Oldham Athletic 12th in league two after one draw, two wins and two losses in their last five matches.

  1. Brilliant move Latics. More nonsense from one of the worst run clubs in the whole league. I really wish that I supported another club. But your team is like your face; you’re stuck with it.
