THERE has been plenty to smile about for pupils and staff at Royton Hall School.
The High Barn Street school is celebrating its best ever SATs results having achieved results above the National average across all areas.
“The results (announced on July 10) are a tribute to the children and the staff,” said a school spokesperson.
Newly appointed head boy and head girl, Frankie and Neve, were then part of the School Council’s welcoming committee for a visit by the Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Javid Iqbal.
Cllr Iqbal, a father of three, was accompanied by his daughter, Mrs Smeaha Iqbal.
The youngsters were on tenterhooks waiting for the couple’s arrival before proudly escorting them on a tour of the modern two storey building.
They were joined by Chairman of Governors, Mr Roy Butterworth and teacher, Lisa Collinson.
