PUPILS at a Royton school hope they are on the road to success after being included in a competition to win £500 worth of art equipment for their school.
Youngsters at Fir Bank Primary, Grasmere Road are in a three-way challenge to scoop the prize in a competition run on behalf of specialist 4×4 centre cartime.
They now need support from the Royton community to help them come out on top against Wesley Methodist Primary (Radcliffe) and Hazelhurst Primary School (Ramsbottom).
But win or lose the children have already had great fun-drawing on a 4×4 vehicle supplied by the Bury based company.
Pupils aged from four to 11 created bespoke designs on the car as part of the competition.
The winning entry will be chosen via a public vote on cartime’s Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/cartimebury/
The customised vehicles are now also on display at cartime’s 4×4 centre on Bell Lane in Bury.
Managing director, Matt Kay said: “We were inspired by the ethos of Children’s Art Week, which encourages children and young people to enjoy fun creative activities that they might not have tried before.
“We certainly hope none of the participants have ever drawn on a car’s exterior before!
“All of the entries into our Car-Art-time competition look fantastic.
“I’d like to thank the schools and students for taking part and wish them luck in the competition.
“We hope the winning school will put the £500 prize towards lots more art equipment to support children in their future art and design activities.”
The public vote will run until midnight on July 21. The winning school will be announced on Wednesday, July 24, 2019.
To vote visit cartime’s Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/cartimebury/ and register your vote against the image of the vehicle that you would like to win.
The design with the most votes will be announced as the overall winner.
